Trecco Bay - worth the hype? Honest review

Trecco Bay in Porthcawl - I see it mentioned everywhere and the reviews are either 5 stars or 1 star. We went last weekend with the kids (7 and 10) and here's my honest take. The pros: fantastic facilities, loads for the kids to do, the new adventure area is genuinely impressive, and the beach location is great. The swimming pool complex kept ours entertained for hours. The cons: it is BUSY. Like, really busy. The clubhouse gets packed and you need to book activities well in advance. It's not a peaceful getaway - if you want quiet, this isn't it. Overall verdict: brilliant for families with kids who want non-stop entertainment. If you want a relaxing break, look elsewhere. We'll probably go back but not every year.

This is exactly our experience. We went once, kids had the time of their lives, we came back absolutely exhausted. It's a great park but you need to know what you're signing up for. The 1-star reviews tend to be from people who expected peace and quiet - which is definitely not what Trecco Bay is about!
